At Moss & Black, education is at the heart of who we are. We believe in lifting up the next generation of stylists through real mentorship, hands-on learning, and endless encouragement. And now, you have the chance to be part of that journey.

Each month, we open a small number of Model Appointments for women who are open, kind, and excited to help our New Talent Stylists grow. These stylists are not beginners—they’ve already completed 1,500 hours of cosmetology school, passed their state boards, and earned their license. What makes them different is their choice to continue learning under mentors, so they can become not just good stylists, but truly exceptional ones.

Every appointment is more than just practice—it’s confidence-building, career-shaping work, and your role as a model makes it possible.

What We Ask

Flexibility with time – These services take longer because they’re part of real-time training

Photo release – You’ll sign a simple form allowing us to use your photos for education and portfolio purposes

Feedback + reviews – If you really loved your experience and service, we ask that you share your experience on Google or Yelp to help our new talent shine

Trust in the process – All formulations and placements are run through a senior stylist. Your stylist-in-training will create their own formula, and if adjustments are needed, we troubleshoot together. This is how learning happens.

How It Works

Every month, we focus on specific services for training—like highlights one month or balayage the next.

By applying, you join our Model Collective, and when we’re working on the service you’ve applied for, we’ll reach out to schedule you.

Applying doesn’t guarantee an immediate appointment, but it does mean you’ll be first in line when your service is in training rotation.

I’m currently looking for amazing women each month to be hair models while I fine-tune new techniques I’m learning at Moss & Black. These services are totally complimentary—all I ask is that you’re open to photos and flexible with timing, since I’ll be learning as I go (with guidance from a master stylist every step of the way).

You’ll be pampered with all the extras Moss & Black is known for—and you’ll leave with a beautiful, styled look plus a free hair product picked just for you. Model appointments do take longer than usual, and a photo release is required. This is part of my growth journey, and I want it to be a great experience for you, too.
