Salon Owner ~ Hair Artist ~ Mentor
I start everyday with a nice hot cup of coffee in the biggest oversized cup you'll ever see. The mornings are nice and peaceful but not for long... time to make lunch, pack school bags and then drive kids to school. Being a full time Mom keeps me pretty busy but I do work behind the chair 4 days a week which is my passion. I enjoy going out on dates with my hubby or a fun girls night. After a long day at work you can find me on my couch in a snuggle puddle with my family & pups watching rerun episodes of Seinfeld or watching one of my favorite movies.... Steel Magnolias or Edward Scissor Hands while sipping a nice glass of wine and snacking on a bag of salt and vinegar chips. When I'm not working I'm playing. If you were spying on me you would catch me chillin in a pontoon boat on Lake Norman, working on my tan and sipping on an ice cold Corona. You could also find me at the theatre tucked in a seat watching the latest superhero movie. I am always searching for new advanced color classes to take because I love learning new things and getting certified in new techniques to beautify my clients.
More about me....
I have always wanted to be a hair stylist ever since I was a child, confession….my first clients were Barbie dolls.
I have had a true passion for the hair and beauty industry all of my life. Being a second generation hairdresser, growing up I found myself watching my mother do hair for years and always loved watching her make people beautiful. I met my hubby Jeff when I was only 15 and we have been together ever since. After High School I went to a local college and I realized after one semester it was not for me, so I followed my heart.
Once beauty school was complete and I obtained my license I got my first job at 19 in one of Long Islands most prestigious salons, thanks to a friend who happened to be the assistant to the owner. She put in a good word for me and I got the job. I worked my way up from assistant to having my own chair in less than 18 months. I was the first one in that salon's history to do this in less than 2 years. After being promoted to colorist in this 7 figure salon, I was determined to be a expert. On my days off I took the train into NYC to take advanced color classes. Word spread about my talents and my clientel grew very quickly.
Charlotte was calling our name so we decided to relocate to the beautiful sunny south in 2006. Moving away from family, friends & my large clientele was one of the hardest things I have ever done, and it was the best decision we have ever made. Since I had young children at the time I decided my salon career would have to wait so I started doing hair at home. My little side job soon started to grow and now I have a successful salon suite.
I feel like my New York upbringing, my salon experience and my drive to stay up to date and educated on current trends truly sets me above the rest. I am passionate about this industry my desire to beautify and enhance everyone around me is an obsession. I just want everyone to feel amazing. Seeing people happy and with more confidence is everything to me. So much so that I recently decided to work with Lily Pad Haven a local non profit that provides free refuge for rescued trafficked women. At our events, these women can come in and receive the hair of their dreams free of charge. I feel so blessed to have a career that I enjoy so much and that also allows me to give back as well.
I look forward to meeting you very soon.
